When he didn't show up at a social event on Sunday, friends went to his home and saw blood and furniture out of place. They contacted police about 3:25 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Detectives concluded that Kreeger was a victim of foul play. Through a combined effort of an LAPD-FBI task force, Kreeger's car was found at Fountain Avenue and Vine Avenue in Hollywood with people in it.

Search warrants were served and investigators worked around the clock, finally locating Kreeger's body inside a trash bin in the 1800 block of Garfield Place in Hollywood.

Merdan Haydarov was arrested and booked for murder about 2 p.m. His bail was set at $1 million and the case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office Wednesday.

The motive for the murder was apparently robbery.

Anyone with information on the killing was asked to call the LAPD's West Bureau Homicide at (213) 382-9470.
