Hollywood Homicide Under Investigation

Police report Nathan Henry Vickers, described as a female transgender, is fatally shot late Thursday. Shooter reportedly gets away.

Police are seeking the public's help in finding the killer of a 32-year-old transgender woman who was shot to death in Hollywood.

Authorities are also investigating whether the incident may be connected to the shooting of a transgender woman in West Hollywood.

Nathan Henry Vickers was found just before 10 p.m. Thursday near Lexington Avenue and Gower Street, said Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Vickers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the victim was standing in the area when an unknown suspect walked up and shot her, Joseph said. The suspect led on foot.

The motive for the shooting was unknown.

Police urged anyone with informaton regarding this shooting to contact Hollywood Homicide detectives at (213) 972-2910 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7.

On Friday, West Hollywood Patch reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which provides police services for the city of West Hollywood, is also investigating the incident. The incident may have a possible connection to that was reported at 9:55 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect is described as a black male, almost 6-feet-tall, wearing a hat and all black clothing, according to the West Hollywood Sheriff's report.
