The pursuit goes through three counties.

By City News Service

A stolen vehicle suspect led officers on a three-county, high speed chase this morning from Porter Ranch to Rancho Cucamonga, authorities said.

The chase began at about 12:40 a.m. near Reseda Boulevard and the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway after an officer determined the suspect was driving a car reported stolen in downtown Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Bernard Fitchpatrick.

The suspect drove into the Hollywood area, where he took to city streets before heading south on the Hollywood (101) Freeway and then east on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, Fitchpatrick said.

Police radio transmissions indicated he hit speeds topping 120 mph, but Fitchpatrick said he could not confirm exact speeds.

"All I know is at some point he was going at a high rate of speed," he said.

The man eventually stopped in the area of Interstate 15 and the Foothill (210) Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga, where he was taken into custody after a pursuit that lasted about an hour, Fitchpatrick said.

The suspect was facing possible charges of driving a stolen vehicle and evading, the lieutenant said.
