A 58-year-old man was convicted today of one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder for a series of stabbings targeting homeless victims in Hollywood in August 2009.

Domingo Linares Rodas was convicted of fatally stabbing 43-year-old Keith Fallin as the victim slept outside the Music Box Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on the afternoon of Aug. 6, 2009. About three hours later, Rodas stabbed Ronald Vaughn in the chest after seeing him walking along Argyle Avenue near Yucca Street. Vaughn survived his wounds.

Rodas attacked another man during the same roughly three-hour period, leading to the second attempted murder conviction.

But jurors acquitted Rodas of the murder of 52-year-old Roger Cota, who was stabbed to death a few blocks from Fallin on the same afternoon. And Rodas was also acquitted in the death of Frederic Lombardo, 45, who was found dead on the same block as Fallin about three weeks earlier, July 18, 2009.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 14.
