Flames Damage Garage and Knock Down Power Lines

Thirty-two firefighters responded to the East Hollywood fire and knocked down the flames in 15 minutes,

A fire damaged a two-car garage and knocked down power lines in East Hollywood tonight, but no injuries were reported.

The fire at 145 N. Virgil Ave., just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, was reported at 8 p.m., said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Thirty-two firefighters responded and knocked down the flames in 15 minutes, he said.

The Department of Water and Power was called in to repair the downed power lines, Scott said.
