Firefighters Rescue Injured Hiker from Hollywood Hills

The injuries of 32-year-old woman airlifted Tuesday night from the Hollywood Hills was not immediately known.

A 32-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday night after being injured while hiking in the Hollywood Hills.

A 911 call made by the injured woman was received at 9:15 p.m., Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The hiker said she was located at 3400 N. Beachwood Drive, near Hollyridge Drive in the Hollywood Hills, Spence said.

A fire department helicopter airlifted paramedics to the site and eventually hoisted the woman to safety, Spence said.

"She was then transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries," Spence said. "Her condition and the extent of her injuries were not known."

There was no other reported injuries. How the woman was hurt was not immediately known.
