DUI Checkpoints Around the Southland During the Holiday Weekend
Police are setting up DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols from Silver Lake to the Valley.
Police will set up two sobriety and driver license checkpoints in Los Angeles tonight as part of a Labor Day Weekend anti-DUI enforcement efforts.
One checkpoint will be at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Main Street in South Los Angeles between 6 p.m. and midnight and the other will be set up for six hours beginning at 8 p.m. at Roscoe Boulevard and Gloria Avenue, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Checkpoints will also be in operation between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday at three intersections -- Topanga Boulevard and Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, Sunset Boulevard and Fountain Avenue in Silver Lake and Olympic Boulevard and Lake Street in the Pico-Union district, police said.

Beefed up anti-DUI patrols will also be mounted in the LAPD's 77th Street Station patrol area in South Los Angeles between 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday, police said.
