The Metro Red Line Station in North Hollywood was closed for about 90 minutes today when somebody found a threatening note and gave it to a train operator.

Ramon Montenegro of the Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau said a passenger found the note around 12:40 p.m. at the station in the 5300 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

"It was some kind of threat," he said.

The station was shut down while investigators conducted a search. Red Line service between North Hollywood -- which is the line's northern terminus -- and the Universal City station was halted, with buses shuttling passengers between the locations and prompting roughly 30-minute delays.

Sheriff's officials cleared the scene shortly after 2 p.m., and normal train service resumed.
