Coroner IDs Man Who Crashed Truck in Hollywood Hills, Jumped to His Death
After crashing his truck, the man jumps from a concrete barrier to his death.
A coroner's investigator Friday identified a man who a California Highway Patrol officer said crashed his white pickup truck into the center divider of the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in the Hollywood Hills, ran across the southbound lanes of traffic and jumped from the right shoulder concrete barrier some 50 to 60 feet to his death.
He was 51-year-old Vicente Perez Lopez, of Los Angeles, said Investigator Elissa Fleak of the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
The incident began about 12:45 a.m. Monday on the Hollywood Freeway north of Cahuenga Boulevard, CHP Officer Monica Posada said. It was not known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the man's death, she said.
