Actress Arrested in Post-Oscar Party Fight

Police say Sean Young was in police custody for alleged battery during the Governors Ball.

Actress Sean Young spent some five hours in LAPD custody early Monday after she was placed under citizen's arrest for alleged battery during an altercation at the post-Oscar Governors Ball, police said.

The 52-year-old actress, whose bail had been set at $20,000, was released early this morning, said Sgt. Enrique Mendoza of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station.

The celebrity news website TMZ.com reported that Young got into a dispute with a security guard at the official Oscar after-party held above the Hollywood & Highland Theatre.

Young was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Sunday and booked into the Hollywood jail at 11:39 p.m. on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff's website.

She was released at 2:55 a.m. and given a March 19 court date, although Mendoza said it would be up to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office to decide whether to file the case.

Her film credits include Stripes (1981), Blade Runner (1982), No Way Out (1987) and My Trip Back to the Dark Side (2012). She has also appeared on television shows, including Skating with the Stars (2010) and The Young and the Restless (2010-2011).
