3 Shot on Hollywood Boulevard, Police Clear Crowds [Video]

The victims are transported to the hospital Wednesday night.

Three males, two of them teenagers, were wounded Wednesday night in a shooting on Hollywood Boulevard, one critically.

The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Whitley Avenue, said Los Angeles police Sgt. Andrew Chao of the Hollywood Station.

A 17-year-old boy, shot in the chest and leg, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in critical condition, Chao said.

A 14-year-old boy, shot in a foot, was taken to County-USC Medical Center.

A 25-year-old man was struck in the buttocks and taken to Cedars-Sinai, Chao said.

Officers deployed in the area due to Halloween night celebrations responded to the scene within minutes, but the suspect or suspects had already fled, possibly in a white sport utility vehicle, Chao said.

Descriptions of the suspects were not immediately available.

Hollywood Boulevard was closed to vehicles between Highland and Whitley, which is a few blocks west of Cahuenga.

Officers moved pedestrians off Hollywood Boulevard and onto nearby parallel neighborhood streets.

Patch witnessed officers gather on Cherokee Avenue, just north of Hollywood Boulevard, form a blockade to prevent pedestrian access to the street. [See the attached video]

Hollywood's a great place. These punks don't even live here or around here. I could tell by the crowd on the street around 8pm that these were just a ton of people from everywhere converging into Hollywood to create trouble, using Halloween as an excuse. Listen, Hollywood Blvd is one of the most famous streets in the world. When are the politicians realize that and clean it up like Guliani cleaned up NYC??

John, thank you! You are so right.. Clean it up! Restore it! Beautify it! Respect it! The city politicians have no real vision or imagination..They just accept funding from developers who want to claim Hollywood and recreate it into something it is not (skyscrapers) and never should be and who have no interest whatsoever in preserving, or improving the neglected areas already here.. It could be beautiful. Hollywood Blvd. is not where the money is going, thanks to these politicians. To them, it is nothing but a place for tourists, and a nightclub city, a partying place.. and it will attract more of the types that will engage in crime, and these crimes will happen more regularly..To the politicians, it is 'Hell why not? It's Hollywood' And according to Garcetti at a City Council meeting.. 'If you don't like it move'

The Palladium may be next on the chopping block for developers. Hollywood Palladium Sells Amid Luxury Tower Rumors - Curbed LA http://la.curbed.com/archives/2012/11/hollywood_palladium_sells_amid_luxury_tower_rumors.php Looks like all these developers were waiting in the wings for the Hollywood Community Plan to pass. Thank Mr. Garcetti.

There were half a million people that streamed into Hollywood to celebrate Halloween. How is Garcetti supposed to stop this? There was a huge sign in the middle of Sunset Blvd just east of Gower that said, "NO HOLLYWOOD PARADE", i am assuming this was to discourage partying in the area on the 31st. I do agree that Garcetti is a giant douchebag, but people came to party in Hollywood. Clean what up? H&H however expensive or without a department store has helped the area. All the riff raff is getting pushed further east. People will always come to Hollywood to party. Garcetti can't stop that.
