Man in Hollywood High-Speed Chase Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Carjacking

Police say Jonathan Lee, 22, of Murrieta reaches speeds of 90 mph at times before jumping out of a stolen car and trying to steal another from a woman with a child.

A man who led police on a high speed chase through Silver Lake and Hollywood on Friday night in a stolen sport utility vehicle was arrested on suspicion of attempted carjacking.

Police say Murietta resident Jonathan Lee, 22, started the chase at approximately 5 p.m., hitting speeds of up to 90 mph at times before jumping out of the vehicle near Willoughby and Wilcox avenues. Lee then allegedly attempted to steal another car from a woman whose daughter was in the backseat, but he was pulled out of the vehicle by Los Angeles Police Officer Karla Godoy and arrested.
