NoHo Thai Closes Weeks After Opening

The business that replaced Lotus Vegan on Vineland Avenue mysteriously shutters shortly after opening.

Well, that was fast.

Last week one of our readers commented that NoHo Thai on Vineland Avenue had gone out of business, about two weeks after its opening.

After stopping by last week, I saw that the front door was locked and that all signs were removed.

Patch did a piece on the short-lived business, which replaced Lotus Vegan after it had moved to Lankershim Boulevard.

Now the former site of the Thai eatery looks like nothing ever happened there after Lotus Vegan relocated.

I'm looking into why the restaurant closed. This has to be some kind of North Hollywood record.

This is sad, I hope you can find some information.

It was open? It always looked closed, maybe if in adfition to advertising and embracing the culturein this unique area, they had cleaned the debris cluttering the front and replaced the sign - basically making it look like a restaurant instead of a condemned building - the neighborhood, including myself, would have loved to eat there as much as we all love Lotus Vegan.

Opening a restaurant can be very expensive. Maybe these new tenants burned through their dough before they could even open. With the senior apartments opening up right down the street, it would definitely be a good locale for a cafe of some sort.

Yes it was open. I live around the corner.
