Calling All Skateboarders: Cricket Wireless Hits the Streets of Los Angeles with Street League Skateboarding Legend P-Rod

WHAT: The Street League Skateboarding (SLS) tour is coming to Los Angeles, and Cricket Wireless, the event’s exclusive wireless sponsor, is kicking off the festivities with engaging activities in the city to interact and meet the face of street skateboarding Paul Rodriguez (P-Rod).

                                               

Rodriguez is the latest Cricket brand ambassador and is on a mission to get Los Angelenos pumped up for the competition. Cricket encourages skateboarding enthusiasts to take it to the streets by showing off their best tricks and support fellow skaters at upcoming Los Angeles event locations in the coming days (details below).

Cricket also donated 100 tickets to this Sunday’s SLS competition to area youth via Jovenes Inc and greater Los Angeles area YMCA branches. The SLS tour is the most prestigious professional competitive series bringing the sport’s best street skateboarding to a worldwide fan base.

WHEN/WHERE:

·         Thursday, July 24 (12:15PM – 1:15PM): Autograph signing and “selfie” opportunity with Rodriguez, Cricket Wireless (5900 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038)

·         Thursday, July 24 (5:00PM – 7:00PM): Skate and hang out with Rodriguez, Boyle Heights Hollenbenk Skate Plaza (415 S. St. Louis St, Los Angeles, CA 90033) 

Both events with Rodriguez are open to the public and free of charge. The SLS Tour Competition takes place Sunday, 7/27, at USC Galen Center, 3400 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90089. Tickets start at $25, and there is a free expo open to the public on the event grounds.
