Flowers Left at Mary Anderson's Hollywood Star
She was among the very last surviving cast members of "Gone With the Wind." She died Sunday.
Flowers were placed today on the Walk of Fame star of Mary Anderson -- who was one of the last surviving cast members of "Gone With the Wind."
The Alabama native died Sunday at the age of 96 in Burbank.
Anderson tried out for the role of Scarlett O'Hara, but ultimately was cast as her cousin, Maybelle Merriwether, in the 1939 epic drama.

The actress was discovered by "Gone With the Wind" director George Cukor and went on to appear in Alfred Hitchcock's "Lifeboat" and other classics of the 1940s and 50s.
Anderson, who married Academy Award-winning cinematographer Leon Shamroy, later had a recurring role on "Peyton Place" in the mid-60s. She also made appearances on shows including "Perry Mason," "My Three Sons" and "Mike Hammer."
