The Contest Winner Who Got to Touch the Hollywood Sign

A Los Feliz resident wins a nation-wide contest.

Gillian Singletary jumped at the chance to touch the Hollywood sign.

The Los Feliz resident was declared the winner of an online contest organized by the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, reports the L.A. Times. She made it up the Cahuenga Peak with her friend, Nick Campbell on Thursday.

The L.A. Times reported the main event was aimed at thanking major donors who helped save the peak from a private developer, but the main draw was the close-up visit to the sign.
