It's that time of year once again to celebrate Thai culture in Hollywood.
The 9th Annual Thai New Year (Songkran) Festival will transform Hollywood Boulevard between Western and Normandie avenues into a pedestrian thoroughfare for one of the largest cultural events in Los Angeles.
The Thai Town celebration promises non-stop food and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Activities include Thai Boxing, Ms. Songkran Pageant, a water blessing ceremony, in addition to traditional stages hosting Thai dance and music.
Hollywood Boulevard will be lined with many food vendors, a beer garden and authentic vendors with crafts from Thailand.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive on the Metro Red Line, which is adjacent to the Hollywood and Western station.
Show your valid Metro pass or Metro Rail ticket at the festival’s information booth and receive a free Thai umbrella while supplies last, according to a news release from Metro .
