PHOTOS: Cyclists Race Through Hollywood

The Amgen Tour of California whizzed through Hollywood Boulevard Sunday morning.

There are only a handful of times each year there's a full closure of Hollywood Boulevard.

Sunday morning was one of them, making way for dozens of cyclists participating in the Amgen Tour of California. The race also prompted the full closure of Sunset Boulevard between Doheney to Orange drives.

Robert Gesnik was the overall winner of the Amgen Tour of California for the seventh time, and just a few months after breaking his leg in a training crash.

But he was overstaged in the final laps by Peter Sagan, a sprinter who took five stages of the race.

Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the Civic Center as the race wound by. It was preceded by a bike ride open to amateurs along the closed streets.
