Video: Dog Rescued at Runyon Canyon

The dramatic video shows how hikers attempting to help a spooked black labrador at the popular Hollywood Hills trail.

This is definitely one of the worst case scenarios a dog owner can imagine.

While out at Runyon Canyon, a black labrador found itself stranded on a steep hillside above a paved portion of the trail. [Patch spotted this video via Curbed L.A. the other day].

You'll see hikers boosting each other in an attempt to reach the dog. Some of whom slipped!

The situation drew quite a crowd of onlookers.

Eventually someone was able to reach the dog and bring him down the hill.

The video was published June 11, 2011 — sometime ago — but serves as a good reminder to always keep safety in mind while out on the trail.
