Take Part in Big Sunday Weekend 2013: Info Mtg.

Big Sunday is California’s premiere resource for
year-round volunteerism. Our mission is to build community through community service and we believe everyone has some way to help someone else, hence our motto: Everyone Helps, Everyone Wins. Our premiere event Big Sunday Weekend, to be held on May 3-5, 2013, is the largest community service gathering in the United States. Founded in 1999 by Executive Director David Levinson, Big Sunday Weekend has transformed from a Los Angeles-based project of 300 volunteers to a
broad-based community service initiative engaging tens of thousands of volunteers from all walks of life who come together for diverse projects spanning from California’s Bay Area to San Diego. Big Sunday is entirely non-denominational, apolitical and despite its massive size and scope, it is a non-profit organization whose projects are run predominantly by volunteers. All aspects of Big Sunday Weekend are free and volunteers are simply asked to donate their time and talent. The Big Sunday Weekend projects, which often serve as the catalyst for good works in several communities throughout the year, are funded
by private and corporate cash grants and in-kind donations.

Interested in taking part in Big Sunday Weekend? Join us for our info meeting Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at Big Sunday headquarters (6111 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90038). We will discuss how to get involved in the community service-focused weekend and we will highlight some of the changes for the big event. Snacks and beverages will be served.
