Weekend Planner: An Open Market, Eclectic Music and Horror Flicks

Options include shopping at the high school, listening to a Serge Gainsbourg tribute and seeing "Psycho" in a cemetery.

Not sure what to do this weekend? How about enjoying a night of fright with a triple feature screening of Halloween at the Egyptian Theatre or the screening of Psycho at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery? Take in some live music and  art at Space 15 Twenty with DJs, Adam Green and rock band My My My.

1. Halloween Triple Feature

Where/When: Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, 90028. Friday, Aug. 26, at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Come to the Egyptian Theatre for the triple feature screenings of all three Halloween movies. Enjoy a good scare with these classic horror films.

2. Screening of Psycho

Where/When: Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, 90038. Saturday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.

Why go: If you’re in the mood for more classic horror movies, then don’t miss the screening of the Alfred Hitchcock-directed Psycho at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. There will be DJ spins before and after the screening for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to bring blankets, drinks and your own picnic dinner for a fun fright night.

Price: $10 donation at the gate.  

3. An Evening of Music with Arts and Leisure

Where/WhenSpace 15 Twenty, 1520 N Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, 90028. Saturday,  Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.

Why go: The Space 15 Twenty is the place to be this evening for music and art enthusiasts. Enjoy music and art by DJs, Adam Green, Binki Shapiro and Leo Fitzpartick. Plus, rock out to a performance by My, My, My with Samaire Armstrong.

Price: Free

4. Peruse Hollywood's Open Market Place

Where/When: Hollywood High's parking lot, 1521 N Highland Ave., Los Angeles, 90028. Saturday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: Find that special piece perfect for your home among antique furniture, vintage clothing and handmade goods. Then stop to dine at the market's featured food truck of the day. Just be sure to bring a hat and some water. It's sure to be a hot day.

Price: Admission is free.

5. KCRW's World Festival: Serge Gainsbourg Tribute

Where/When: , 2301 N Highland Ave., Los Angeles, 90068. Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

Why go: Come to the Hollywood Bowl for KCRW's World Festival: Serge Gainsbourg Tribute, hosted by Anne Litt. Enjoy performances by Beck, Sean Lennon, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear, Victoria Legrand of Beach House, Mike Patton of Faith No More, Nika Roza Danilova of Zola Jesus, Lulu Gainsbourg and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. This is a great night for eclectic music.
