Commencement ceremonies for students at Hollywood High and the Helen Bernstein High School Compex sent off graduating seniors with an evening to remember. Hollywood Patch attended the ceremony for Academic Performance Excellence Academy (APEX) at Bernstein for its where students once deemed at-risk celebrated their ability to overcome challenges.

Remember the band who caused a major traffic jam while shooting their music video on the 101 Freeway last year? A judge decided Thursday that there is to try three men in the band.

Councilman Tom LaBonge was into office atop Mount Hollywood Wednesday. He treated guests to his rendition of Elvis' If I Can Dream,  while the sun began to set over the Hollywood Hills.

The the Autry National Center renovation project at Griffith Park on Tuesday. The decision clears the way for the $6.6 million project to receive state grant funds.

The City Council votes to stop the elimination of red-light cameras last week. The Police Commission's decision to end the red-light camera program will stand unless at least eight council members vote to overturn it before July 31.
