Week in Review: Officer-Involved Shooting; 'Gangster Squad' in Hollywood; Universal Studios Gets Harry Potter Theme Park

Here are some of the highlights from the week beginning Dec. 4.

1. A 26-year-old man opened fire and injured at least three people at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street Friday, police said. The man, identified by police as was killed by officers on the scene.

2. A portion of Hollywood Boulevard was transformed to look like a page out of the 1940s for the . The movie shoot outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre included a shootout in the street and closed traffic to Hollywood Boulevard for three nights.

3. Universal Studios Hollywood made it official Tuesday, confirming that it will open a theme park. Officials said the theme park will create 1,000 jobs and will take three years to build.

4. The Los Angeles City Council unanimously agreed Tuesday that and not entitled to the same constitutional protections. Council members called for more regulations on how much corporations can spend on political elections and voted to support a constitutional amendment.
