The Dodger fan who to raise funds to fix announcer Vin Scully's cracked star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was recognized for the gesture when he came into town last week, reports the Daily News.

On July 21, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce gave Glenn Mingay the opportunity to put the final touches on the repair. He was also treated to lunch at Mel's Diner and a visit to the Hollywood Museum. (See the photos the chamber sent to Hollywood Patch in the slide show.)

At Friday's Dodgers-Nationals game, Mingay met Scully in the press box. It was "a win-Vin Hollywood ending to a starstruck story" as the Daily News summed it up in its headline.
