Update: Hollywood Hills Power Outage

Thousands of LADWP customers are reported without power in the Hollywood Hills.

Early Thursday morning Hollywood Patch reported that were among those in the dark due to powerful winds breaking powerlines.

It appears that about 5,800 customers are still without power in the Hollywood Hills, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

If you're wondering when the power will turn on, officials estimate power will be restored within 24-48 hours, according to a press statement. The outage is part of a larger blackout that effects 141,000 customers throughout Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

LADWP has more than 100 crews responding to more than 1,000 separate incidents, as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Officials have called in crews from out of state and throughout California to assist in restoration efforts.

LADWP warns many customers will experience shorter outages, but should be prepared for up to 24 - 48 hours.
