Simon Fuller to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Star ceremony: American Idol creator Simon Fuller will receive the 2,441st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, honoring a 30-year career that has included managing the careers of soccer star David Beckham and pop music’s Spice Girls. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and Carrie Underwood, the show's 2005 champion, will join Fuller in speaking at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the W Hollywood hotel at 6268 Hollywood Blvd.

Official opening: opens to the public at 11 a.m. at 1645 Wilcox Ave. in Hollywood. For 80 years the eatery has served up its tropical drinks and freshly grilled franks in New York. This location marks its first on the West Coast.

Weather: Expect clouds through mid-morning then becoming mostly sunny with a high near 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There is a chance of drizzle and patchy fog before 11 a.m. Tonight, we’ll have increasing clouds with a low around 54 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. Sunrise: 5:46 a.m. Sunset: 7:53 p.m.

Cheapest gas prices: The cheapest gallon of regular gas is $3.99 at the Arco gas station at 6100 Franklin Ave. and Gower Street, according to LosAngelesGasPrices.com. The second-lowest price is $4.13 at the Mobil gas station at 6288 Franklin Ave. near Argyle Avenue.
