Muppets to Shut Down Hollywood Boulevard, Again

Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive to be closed all day Saturday for 'The Muppets' movie premiere.

If you notice traffic backup in and around the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex Saturday, you can thank the Muppets.

The Muppets movie premiere is prompting the full street closure of Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive from 3 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., according to Navigate Hollywood. All lanes will be closed as well as the mid-block crosswalk. The south sidewalk will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the El Capitan Theatre's Facebook page, red carpet arrivals are scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m.

This isn't the first time the Muppets have shut down Hollywood Boulevard. The cast was seen dancing in front of the El Capitan Theatre in January, reported Tough Pigs, a fan blog dedicated to the Muppets. In July, Hollywood Patch spotted Miss Piggy, Kermit and Fozze along with actors Jason Segal and Amy Adams

Another recognizable Hollywood landmark shows Adams and Segal with a Muppet in the backseat driving down La Brea Avenue and stopping for a hot dog at Pink's.
