Man Charged in Stabbing at Metro Red Line Station

Lang David Dunbar faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and one count of mayhem in connection with stabbing two at the Western/Hollywood Metro station.

A Los Angeles man accused of stabbing two people at a Metro Red Line station earlier this month was charged today with attempted murder and other counts.

Lang David Dunbar, 25, was arrested Saturday in Cleveland in connection with the on a man and woman following an argument at the Metro station at Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Dunbar is awaiting extradition to Los Angeles, where he is charged with two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon and one count of mayhem, according to the District Attorney's Office.

The man was slashed in the neck and the woman sustained gashes to the face and the back of an arm. The assailant fled immediately after the 4:30 a.m. attack, and the station was closed for a time.

Prosecutors have asked that Dunbar's bail be set at more than $2.1 million.
