Living with the Oscars: Detours in Effect for Metro Riders

Riders on buses and trains passing through Hollywood face detours leading up to the Oscars Sunday.

Metro bus riders in the Hollywood area will have to deal with some detours due to street closures prompted by Sunday's 84th Academy Awards ceremony.

Five bus lines — 212, 312, 217, 222 and 780— were being detoured away from Hollywood Boulevard between Highland and La Brea avenues, and those detours were expected to continue until 6 a.m. Tuesday, or until barricades in the area are removed.

On Sunday, bus lines 156, 212, 222 and 217 will be detoured from Hollywood Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard and on Highland Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, according to Metro.

Metro Red Line trains will run on a regular schedule, but the trains will bypass the Hollywood/Highland station all day Sunday. Service to that station will resume Monday.

The Oscar ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hollywood & Highland Center.
