Good morning, Hollywood. Here is a roundup of news, tips and neighborhood happenings.

Weather: Today will be cloudy, with a high near 76 and a low of 61, according to the National Weather Service.

LaBonge: Councilman Tom LaBonge was sworn in Monday for his third and final term by City Clerk June Lagmay; both were aides to Councilwoman Peggy Stevenson in the mid-1970s, according to City News Service. LaBonge said he plans to "work harder and more effectively ... because the public dollar has been shrunken. To be able to do things in an effective way will be the key.''

He is planning a swearing-in ceremony at Griffith Park on June 21, according to the Daily News

Runyon Canyon: LaBonge passed a motion last week to close Runyon Canyon Park early during the July 4th weekend, reported The City Maven. LaBonge, who chairs the Arts, Parks, Health and Aging Committee, stated in the motion that because the park is a popular place to watch fireworks and those displays pose a fire risk to its hillsides and brush areas, the park should be closed early to protect people from potential danger. The recommendation to close the park at 5 p.m. July 1-4 will be considered at the City Council meeting today.

Metro Cuts: Do you commute by bus? Metro laid out its plans for bus lines that will be discontinued or offer more service starting June 26.

"In nearly all cases where lines are set to be eliminated, they will be replaced by other Metro bus lines or by transit services within one-quarter mile of existing service," Metro said in a statement.
