Nestled in the heart of Hollywood California, the Chateau Alto Nido Apartments is a Spanish Colonial Revival complex that was designed in 1929 by architect SJ Pedersen. The Alto Nido was immortalized in Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard as the home of down-on-his-luck scribe Joe Gillis. According to the trusty Movieland Directory, the Alto Nido (or "high nest") has seen its fair share of successful residents as well, including Fatty Arbuckle, Claudette Colbert, George Cukor, and of course Al "Grandpa Munster" Lewis. This former hotel sits atop Ivar hill and is notable for being the possible residence of Elizabeth Short, better known as The Black Dahlia. The property has come long way since it was commissioned in 1929. And if you want to wrap yourself in creative surroundings that offer that old Hollywood feel, then stop by to see if the Chateau Alto Nido Apartment homes will be a great fit for you! Oh, and BTW, we LOVE pets now too! (lb & breed restriction-please be advised :o)).
