Jersey Mike's Subs Opening Wednesday to Raise Funds for Hollywood High

It's the franchise's 50th shop to open in the Los Angeles area.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is kicking off its grand opening at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood on Wednesday with a fundraiser to benefit Hollywood High School.

The eatery, which serves subs in a style popular in the northeastern U.S., will host the five day fundraiser through Sunday with proceeds going toward the school's performing arts program.

The store is the third for Jersey Mike's franchisee and former TV producer and agent Lloyd Weintraub. He also owns stores in West Hollywood and Northridge. It's the franchise's 50th shop to open in the Los Angeles area.

Anyone with a fundraising coupon will receive a free sandwich with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 10,000 coupons are being distributed throughout the community.

"As I stand in front of my store at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood, looking down at the stars with their names imprinted on the sidewalk, I cannot imagine a more appropriate fundraising recipient for our opening than the Performance Arts Program of Hollywood High School,” Weintraub said in a press release. “No school in the country has amassed such a high profile list of graduates and talent."
