Grau Design Features One-of-a-Kind Clothing

The retail, design studio and artist collective is a hidden gem inside Crossroads of the World.

Looking for an adventurous shopping experience?

You don't have to go far. Tucked into Crossroads of the World is an under-the-radar retail shop full of ecclectic women's clothing.

Thanks to Fashion's Night Out on Thursday, I came across Grau Design's event. And being a gal who dangerously treads the boundary of shopaholic-ism,  I decided that it was necessary to get the scoop on the shop.

Turns out that designer Claudia Grau has affixed her studio at Crossroads for the past 14 years and in October she decided to expand the space to include retail.

Grau has an eye for textures and patterns, collaging together pieces of clothing that could be considered pieces of art. She's been in the fashion business for more than 30 years, opening her first store on Melrose Avenue before it became a destination shopping hotspot.

Now that she has once again ventured into retail, she has put together an artist collective that features many of their designs inside the shop. She also organizes a variety of workshops.

She's welcoming, passionate and a great host. I'm planning to visit again soon and share with you her story! For now, check out the slideshow for a glimpse at her shop and her tie dye party for Fashion's Night Out.

Grau is located at 6671 and 6679 Sunset Blvd. Store hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
