Hollywood Arts Council Holds Kick-Off Membership Event

A Stellar Night with the Hollywood Arts Council at Hennessey + Ingalls Art & Architecture Bookstore 

The Hollywood Arts Council is hosting a very “Hollywood” evening to “meet and greet” and introduce new and prospective members to the Board of Trustees and the Council’s new Executive Director, Shauna McClure.

The mixer will be held at Hennessey + Ingalls Art & Architecture Bookstore 1520 N. Cahuenga Blvd. The store has just introduced an extensive offering associated with Hollywood and its industry and will extend a 10% discount on purchases that night.

In addition to lots of socializing, the event will feature long-time Hollywood Arts Council trustee, legendary actress Stella Stevens, who will be autographing books and assorted merchandise. There will be a screening of one of Stella’s most celebrated films, “The Nutty Professor” with Jerry Lewis. Council trustee and filmmaker Anita Rosenberg will also screen her short film,” Get Tux’d” starring Ice T, a takeoff on “The Nutty Professor”. 

This kick-off event is the first of a planned series of membership events that will take place at selected venues in Hollywood. The event has a suggested donation of $5 and will be free to those who sign up to join the Hollywood Arts Council. Wine and refreshments will be served.

The Hollywood Arts Council works for the benefit of the Hollywood community through the arts. Its mission to promote, nurture and support the arts is tied to the belief that the arts revitalize people as well as communities. Council projects include Project S.O.A.R. (Students Overcoming All Risks), after-school arts programs and the annual Children’s Festival of the Arts and an assortment of community art projects The Council promotes the arts through a daily calendar of arts events published in “Discover Hollywood” magazine and on its website www.hollywoodartscouncil.org.
