Bites Nearby: Short Cruise for a Neighboring Nosh

Visit one of the area's iconic restaurants, known for its food but also its community of classic-car crazy clients.

You could look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Hollywood Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. This week's choice comes to you from Burbank.

The original is a must-see for all Angelenos. The Beatles, Bob Hope and Jay Leno have all visited this iconic American restaurant.

Opened in 1949, Bob's Big Boy in Burbank was the first in the country, and is a historical landmark. Famous for its original "Double Deck" hamburgers, Bob's Big Boy serves a wide selection of other items, such as sandwiches, salads and breakfast. Also, every Friday night there is a classic car show in the parking lot that Jay Leno has been known to check out. Saturday nights feature car-hop service, with waitstaff on rollerskates. Prices: $8 to $18 for entrees.
