Drink With The Seven Dwarfs

Snow White Cafe is the perfect place to escape the tourists and sip a variety of 34-ounce beers at a great happy hour price.

If there ever was a bar that belonged in Hollywood, it's the Snow White Café.

At 6769 Hollywood, Snow White Café is a cozy tavern with an imaginative flair that has graced the streets of Hollywood since 1946. The café shares its strip of the Walk of Fame with the likes of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and the Guinness World Records Museum.

Stepping into the bar brings you into the world of a classic Disney movie, complete with scenes painted on the walls, which were created by the very hands that gave life to the characters of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, itself. A mural dating back to 1946 was created by Disney animators and sits above the door. It reads, “We hope we have pleased you.”

The walls of the bar are made up of exposed brick and are decorated with paintings of the seven dwarfs. Tables and chairs as well as an additional lounging area with couches and stools provide ample seating for diners. A wooden bar allows for access to several televisions, which constantly broadcast sports events. A glance up from the bar reveals a scene of the Wicked Witch tempting Snow White with a poisonous red apple.

Snow White is a great place to grab a great happy hour deal in a charming and accessible Hollywood bar.

From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, the bar offers 34-ounce steins of beer for $10. Selections include: Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Samuel Adams Seasonals, Guinness, Newcastle, Heineken, Long Hammer IPA, Stella Artois, Windmere.

Steins of Miller Light, ESB, Shock Top, Amberbock, Bud Light and Budweiser are available for $7.

All 16-ounce beers cost $5. In addition to happy hour, Snow White offers a pint of beer with a burger and fries or hot wings for $10.

Aside from happy hour, Snow White serves a variety of wine at $8 a glass. The bar doesn’t have a full liquor license, but according to management, serves imitation liquor drinks that are $5-$9.

The kitchen at Snow White provides a variety of traditional American fare with a variety of salads ($4.95-9.95), appetizers ($7.5), pizzas ($12.95), sandwiches served with french fries ($6.95-$7.95), pastas ($9.95-$10.95) and an assortment of entrees ($11.95 to $17.95). Popular dishes include the Snow White Combo (stir fried meat and vegetables: chopped beef broccoli, celery, onions, carrots, green peppers, and tomato sauce, served with mashed potatoes), homemade linguini (with creamy mushroom sauce) and the classic burger.

Just steps away from the bustling Hollywood and Highland intersection, Snow White Café is a mecca for people watching. Grabbing a seat at one of the tables and chairs on the sidewalk provides a view of the chaotic Los Angeles tourist action.

The crowd is a mix of locals and tourists who pop in for a bite after jumping off a star homes tour bus. Actors in the community are known to pop in for a drink or two to celebrate a successful audition or to ward off a bad one.

During my visit to Snow White Café, I chatted with several bar goers to find out what makes them look to this local gem as their happy hour in Hollywood destination:

  • “I can’t believe what a great happy hour this place has. You wouldn’t think you’d find such a good deal in Hollywood.” – Sara Butler
  • “This bar is so cute. Look around! I love Snow White. It’s my favorite movie. It’s like I get to drink with the dwarfs when I’m in here.” – Briana Lee
  • “It’s the best deal in Hollywood. Big beers for $7!” – Joe Adams
  • “I like to drink and reminisce about my favorite Disney movie. Snow White was my favorite when I was little” – Katherine Peters
  • “I stumbled in here to get away from all the tourists, but it’s a pretty cool place and they have good burgers.” – Jesse Bowen
