This Week in Hollywood: A.R. Rahman, Steely Dan and Designer Drugs

What to see and hear at Hollywood concert venues July 4 – July 10.

Prolific Indian film composer A.R. Rahman, perhaps best known in the U.S. for composing the award-winning scores for 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire, will perform at the ’s Journey to India event Sunday. The Los Angeles Philharmonic will accompany Rahman at the event, which also includes traditional Indian music and Bollywood dancers.

American jazz rockers Steely Dan plan two performances at the Greek Theatre this weekend, as part of the band’s “Shuffle Diplomacy Twenty Eleven” tour. Hall & Oates play their last of three Hollywood Bowl shows, Monday, at the July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular. New York DJ duo Designer Drugs will bring their grungy house beats to the Friday.
