Jimmy Kimmel to Host 64th Primetime Emmy Awards

It will be a first for the popular late night talk show host.

One of the neighborhood's most famous talk show hosts was named Monday as the host of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC Sept. 23. He has has hosted the American Music Awards and ESPN Awards and will host next month's White House Correspondents Dinner.

Hosting the awards will be a first for Kimmel, who we often see out and about in the community shooting segments on Hollywood Boulevard and, earlier this year, .

The Primetime Emmy Awards were hosted last year by Glee star Jane Lynch when the ceremony aired on Fox. The ceremony annually rotates among the four major broadcast networks.

Don Mischer will be the executive producer of the Primetime Emmy Awards for a record 12th time.
