Quebec in Hollywood Festival

Québec is taking over Los Angeles this September with Québec in Hollywood – a month-long celebration of Québec creativity and excellence. The event takes place in and around Hollywood from September 9-25, 2011 and features a film festival, food tastings, fashion show, art exposition, comedy performances, music shows and more. It culminates on September 25 with the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s new resident show, IRIS, at the prestigious Kodak Theatre on Hollywood Blvd.

Québec in Hollywood will launch on Friday, September 9, with a large musical performance by musicians from Québec. Then, for the next two weeks, high-profile Québec chefs will guest chef at well-known restaurants on Hollywood Blvd, preparing special menus highlighting Québec cuisine.

Québec stand-up comedians will give two shows at the Comedy Store on September 15 and 22. Already confirmed to appear is Sugar Sammy, known for his witty, no-holds-barred style of comedy. Québec in Hollywood will also present an exclusive exhibition by internationally-celebrated Québec painter Corno, featuring portraits of Marilyn Monroe, and an exhibition of sculptures by Québec artist, Margo Genest.
