Three Men Arrested After Woman Stabbed to Death Near Hollywood & Highland Center [Updated]
The crime happened on Tuesday night.
Three men were in custody today in the stabbing death of a woman near the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex.
The crime occurred about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday. Christina Calderon of Lynwood died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"The victim was with a friend walking in the area when they saw three men who were holding signs and panhandling,'' according to an LAPD statement.
"The victim and her friend took photos of the men with their cell phones as they were holding their signs. A dispute ensued, and ultimately the victim was stabbed in the upper torso.''
No said the woman had refused to give the men some money.
The suspects, described as transients, were arrested near the crime scene, police said. The names of the men, in their late 20s or early 30s, were not immediately released.
