7 Summer Camps in Hollywood

Check out these spots sure to help ward off summer boredom for the kids.

With school out for the summer, you may be looking for a way to entertain your kids over the next three months.

Signing up for summer camp might could be the solution, and there are a host of them to choose from right here in Hollywood. Here’s our guide to help keep your child away from the summer doldrums.

The has a variety of activities at its summer camp including: gym class, swimming, arts and crafts, basketball, soccer, dance and yoga. The camp meets from June 25-Aug. 17. There will be no camp on the Fourth of July. The YMCA also offers a $50 discount for siblings, and you do not have to be a member of the YMCA to participate in summer camp. Ages 4-12 are accepted. The cost ranges is $250 per week or $450 per two weeks for members, and $325 per week or $650 for two weeks for non-members. Learn more online.

The Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood will host a variety of activities for kids ages 6-17. Some of this summer’s activities include: arts and crafts, use of a computer lab and a music studio, gym time, games and outdoor activities. Children must become a member of the club in order to participate in the summer camp which begins June 25. The membership cost is $30 per year.

Camp Hollywoodland in is designed with girls in mind. The week-long program gives the children a chance to sleep in cabins and participate in outdoor activities, including, games hiking, archery, swimming, dance and karaoke. The camp is for girls ages 6-14. It starts the week of June 25. The cost ranges from $425 to $450. There is also a week-long Griffith Park Boys Camp for boys ages 7-14. It offers swimming, a climbing wall, archery and arts and crafts as well as weekly field trips to places like Knott's Berry Farm. The cost ranges from $400-$425.

Yucca Park Summer Camp is for children ages 5-12. Kids can participate in weekly field trips, computer classes, arts and crafts, a reading corner, team-building exercises and water play. There is a $50 registration fee, and the weekly cost ranges from $60-$80. The camp begins June 25.

If you want your children to work on their Spanish skills this summer, Kallpachay Summer Camp may be your best bet. The Spanish immersion program is offered Mondays through Fridays. Children can also sign up for half-days. Class fees range from $86-$250. Group tutoring and after-camp sessions are also available. Classes start June 25.

is offering a summer camp for youth ages 8-18. They will have the opportunity to participate in sketch comedy writing classes as well as improvisation and musical improvisation classes. Kids will be divided into groups, according to their ages. There will also be a performance in the theater at the end of the three-week program which begins June 25. Cost is $750.
