ShopHouse Offers Hollywood Asia's Version of Fast Food

The restaurant is located at 6333 Sunset Boulevard.

Editors Note: Sometimes you see something cool that you just have to share. This column is my opportunity to share with you the interesting businesses I'm visiting and people I'm meeting.

So I went to ShopHouse in Hollywood because I was curious.

I received an email about the restaurant having opened (about two months ago). So I went to the websites restaurant and all of the pictures of the food looked really good. I'm a sucker for  delicious looking food in a photograph (I've tried a wide variety of food because it looked pretty. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose but that's the way it goes). Plus, I've never had fast food style Asian rice bowls so I decided it was worth a try.
The restaurant reminds me a bit of Chipotle, in the sense that you pick your meat and toppings as you go and everything is customizable. You don't have to have the same meal twice. The guy behind the counter let me try both the steak and the Pork and Chicken meatballs (both of which were delicious but I ultimately went with the meatballs) and he gave me guidance throughout the entire process. It was also reasonably priced, I got a rice bowl and a pomegranate ginger ale for less than $11.
Word to the wise: be careful not to put to much Siracha on your food. Because that hurts.

Still relatively new to the neighborhood, ShopHouse is located at 6333 Sunset Boulevard and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
