School Valet Lot and Tourist Drama

I Can See Los Angeles From My Backyard: One of Sarah Palin's chief advisors is Hollywood resident and AFI alumni Rebecca Mansour, according to a Los Angeles Times profile.

Gawker Blockers: The debate of how to handle tourists attempting to gain a closeup view of the Hollywood sign continues, as some vigilantes have used hacksaws to cut down directional signage leading up to the landmark, while neighbors discuss other, often conflicting options including, "landscaping certain areas to block views of the Hollywood Sign, making the neighborhood no access except for tour buses, banning tour buses, and gating the entire area to make it into a private community."   [Curbed LA]

A Non-Relaxing Tour: Off 'N Running Tours operates a five mile running or walking tour of Hollywood landmarks. Runners Web writes that the tours take place in Beachwood Canyon and Hollywoodland,  where "individuals get sweeping views of the Hollywood sign while learning little known facts and seeing historical sites."

Get Involved: A meeting of the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council Area 7 Committee will be held on Saturday at 1pm at the Cinematographers Guild, 7755 Sunset Blvd. Area 7 covers "the area south of Hollywood Blvd. to the West Hollywood border and west of La Brea to the West Hollywood border." The public is invited to attend and discuss agenda items that include liquor licenses for area businesses, homeless housing opportunities, and zoning issues.
