Rescue Pets of the Week

If you need a cuddle buddy, running partner or a critter companion, check out these local pets available for adoption near Hollywood.

Thinking about adding a furry friend to your family? Consider rescuing a pet from a Los Angeles Animal Services shelter.

The North Central Shelter at 3201 Lacy St.  serves Hollywood residents seeking to adopt an animal and picks up lost pets in the area.

The animals shown in our photo gallery are just a sampling of the many that are available in the shelter's online adopt-a-pet database. Descriptions in the photo captions are provided by the shelter's Facebook page.

The maximum cost for a resident to adopt a dog is $122. The maximum for a cat is $76. The fee includes vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchipping and, for dogs, the first-year license fee.

Hours of operation: Tuesdays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stay connected with Hollywood Patch throughout the day on Facebook and Twitter. Subscribe to our free daily newsletter for email updates.
