'Lock It, Hide it, Keep It' Signs To Be Posted Around Griffith Park

The signs, intended to remind visitors to protect their valuables when visiting the park, are being unveiled Tuesday.

Signs intended to reduce burglaries from vehicles in Griffith Park will be unveiled Tuesday.

The signs read "Lock It, Hide It, Keep It." They are intended to remind park visitors to lock their vehicle, hide their valuables and keep their property with them when leaving cars in Griffith Park, said Councilman Tom LaBonge.

The signs come in response to 17 car-related crimes in Griffith Park in June and July, which include burglaries from vehicles and grand theft auto, LaBonge said.

"Griffith Park is one of the city of Los Angeles' greatest gifts," LaBonge said. "These signs serve as a much-needed deterrent to auto-related crimes in the park."
