Hollywood Heritage Museum Hosts Last Celebration of the Season

The museum paid tribute to Republic Pictures.

The Hollywood Heritage Museum had a crowd on hand this week for its "Evening at the Barn."

The event paid tribute to Republic Pictures, and some of the actors and celebrities associated with the movie studio also showed up for the occasion.

Bryan Cooper, president of Hollywood Heritage Incorporated, said  Wednesday night's event was a big success.

"In addition to a sold out house, we were honored to have eight stars from Republic films in attendance to share their memories with us, Cooper said. "Hopefully, folks came away with a better appreciation for Republic Pictures which is largely forgotten today."

The crowd of more than 100 people also enjoyed a presentation of rare film clips from Republic Pictures' movies and a medley of songs by Will Ryan and the Cactus County Cowboys.

The event marked the Hollywood Heritage Museum's last event of the season.

A celebration of the Lasky De-Mille Barn's 100th Anniversary is scheduled to take place next fall, according to Cooper.
