Endeavour Viewers: Avoid Traffic, Ride a Free Shuttle to Griffith Observatory

Councilman Tom LaBonge announces the free service that aims to minimize potential traffic issues during Friday's flyover.

UPDATE Thursday, 6:30 p.m.: The updated expected arrival time of Space Shuttle Endeavour in Los Angeles air space is 11:30 a.m. pacific time. "Any time after 11:30 a.m., watch for flyovers of Endeavour passing regional landmarks," NASA announced in a news release.

Free shuttle service from the Greek Theatre to Griffith Observatory will be available Friday morning for anyone who wants to see the space shuttle Endeavour fly above Los Angeles.

The bus will operate 8 a.m. to noon from 2700 N. Vermont Avenue. There will be signs and a tent to help direct visitors.

Councilman Tom LaBonge said he is providing the service to minimize traffic issues in Griffith Park and surrounding neighborhoods. He hopes it creates a fun and safe experience for all Angelenos.

"There have been many days of joy in the City of Los Angeles, our sports teams have brought home championships and our Olympians have taken back gold medals, but tomorrow, this flyover by Space Shuttle Endeavour is going to take the cake," LaBonge said. "I hope everyone gets the chance to see it."
