Family Day at the Griffith Park Shakespeare Festival

A workshop this Saturday promises a backstage look at this summer's productions.

The Griffith Park Shakespeare Festival is offering an added event for families this weekend.

The festival, which kicked off on June 27, is hosting a free family workshop on Saturday before the evening's scheduled performance of "She Stoops to Conquer" by Oliver Goldsmith.

The interactive workshop will be led by teachers from the Los Angeles Independent Shakespeare Company.

The workshop, which will be offered in both English and Spanish, will teach kids and their parents about the play as well as provide a backstage tour.

The workshop is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Old Zoo at Griffith Park
located at 4730 Crystal Springs Drive.

All of the shows this summer begin at 7 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays.

To find out more information, or to make a reservation for Saturday's workshop, call (818)710-6306, or visit the Los Angeles Independent Shakespeare Festival online.
