Eastbound Lanes on Hollywood Boulevard Closed Tonight

Weather: Expect a mostly cloudy day that gradually becomes sunny with a high near 67 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be patchy fog before 11 a.m. Tonight, we’ll have increasing clouds with a low around 51. Sunrise: 6:26 a.m. Sunset: 7:22 p.m.

Cheapest gas prices: The cheapest gallon of regular gas is $4.15 at the Arco gas station at 6100 Franklin Ave. and Gower Avenue, according to LosAngelesGasPrices.com. The second lowest price is $4.17 at the Shell gas station at 5657 Sunset Blvd. and N. Wilton Place.

Neighborhood meeting: The Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council Area 5 meeting will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Outpost Homeowners Association Board meeting at Camrose Park. Three items up for discussion and a possible vote include: a request for a variance at 1822 Outpost Drive, a proposal by the homeowners board requesting the neighborhood council to fund neighborhood signs throughout the HHWNC community, and the endorsement of strict LAPD enforcement of laws on tour van companies.

Public hearing: The City's Board of Building and Safety Commissioners will hold a public hearing today to consider the proposed hauling project at 1800 and 1810 N. Whitley Avenue at 9:30 a.m. in Room 900, 201 North Figueroa St. The owner, 1802 North Whitley LLC, is proposing to export 18,000 cubic yards of earth from the project site. The proposed route is Hollywood Boulevard, right on to Whitley Avenue. Once filled, the trucks that will carry away the dirt up Whitley to Franklin Avenue, make a right on Franklin and move toward the 101 Freeway.

Street closure: Eastbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between Sycamore Avenue and Orange Drive will be closed from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., according to NavigateHollywood.com. Lanes will be closed for a Lexus vehicle launch event.

Deal alert: Urban Outfitters at Space 15 Twenty is holding a sample sale April 15-17 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pay $50 for all you can fit in a bag. Ten percent of proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
