Community Plan's Environmental Impact to Be Reviewed Tonight

Neighborhood meeting: The Hollywood United Neighborhood Council will meet tonight to review the Draft Environmental Report of the proposed Hollywood Community Plan. The city’s planning department will brief attendees on what the environmental report means for the community. The meeting is at Hollywood Adventist Church at 1711 N. Van Ness Ave.

Across town, apartments are among the development projects in the works with the recent purchase of a 2.76-acre collection of parcels in an area near the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex, reports the LA Times. Champion Real Estate Co. paid $20 million for the land. The real estate project has not yet been designed, would take at least a year to be approved by city officials and an additional two years to build, President Robert Champion told the Times. He predicted there should be demand for new apartments by 2013.

An announcement from Residences at the W is expected later this month in light of the recent departure of Sothebys, the exclusive listing agent for the Residences at the W Hollywood, Curbed LA published on its blog Friday.  “The Residences at W Hollywood are in the midst of exciting transitions as the property continues to deliver an incomparable residential opportunity at the iconic corner of Hollywood and Vine,” said a rep for the Residences in a statement to Curbed. The blog cites a source who points out that 10 of 143 units have been sold since the development opened last year.
